A. Burn Machine, LLC is a privately owned company that designs and retails its own line of original exercise equipment. The name “Burn Machine” is often used to refer to any one of the many pieces of equipment designed by The Burn Machine.

A. The Asymmetrical Barbell System is an original line of exercise equipment designed and retailed by The Burn Machine. The line is made up of two primary types of machines: the Speed Bags and the Asymmetrical Barbells.

A. The difference between the Speed Bags and the Asymmetrical Barbells can be compared to the difference between a treadmill and a weight machine; The Speed Bag is designed to increase cardio and muscular endurance, while the Asymmetrical Barbells are designed to provide a full-body, strength-training workout. Using the two types of units together provides a complete cardio and strength conditioning system that burns fat, increases endurance, strengthens muscles and accelerates the metabolism.

A. The Burn Machine designs equipment for general fitness that benefits both men and women. Regardless of your level of fitness or your fitness goals, The Burn Machine has a unit to meet your needs.

A. Which machine you choose should depend on your fitness level and your fitness goals. A. The Speed Bag is a handheld, high-repetition unit designed to increase cardio and muscular endurance.

A. The signature exercise of the Speed Bag mimics the punching motion of a conventional speed bag workout, however, the weight of the unit provides a higher level of strengthening and conditioning. The unique, 360-degree rotating handles also allow the machine to be used for limitless exercises and applications.

Intermediate Speed Bag is usually challenging enough for most people with an average to above average level of physical fitness. Statistically, women most often choose this size Speed Bag. The 12 lb. Professional Speed Bag is for people with an advanced level of upper-body conditioning. Statistically, men most often choose this size Speed Bag.

A. The Asymmetrical Barbell is a curling bar that features 360-degree rotating grips and The Burn Machine’s patented Asymmetrical Sliding Counterweight. The Asymmetrical Barbell comes in the following models:

The Intermediate Cross Trainer, 12 lbs. (available in black or army green).

The Professional Cross Trainer, 20 lbs. (available in black only).

The Universal, 22 lbs., can be plate loaded with up to 200 pounds (available in black or army green).

A. The patented sliding counterweight creates an imbalance on the bar, which produces a greater gravitational pull on one side of the body. To compensate for the asymmetrical force, the abdominal and core muscles in the opposite side of your body must engage and contract. This allows you to condition your core as you strengthen each muscle group for the most efficient full-body workout.

A. The Asymmetrical Barbell can do anything a conventional barbell can do, and so much more. It combines the versatility of a dumbbell with the stability of a barbell. The 360-degree rotating grips maximize comfort and safety, and allow for seamless transitions between exercises.

A. Only the Universal has extensions onto which weight can be added. It can be loaded with our custom chrome weights (sold separately), or standard round plates (sold separately), or Olympic plates. To accommodate Olympic plates, The Burn Machine sells Olympic adapters as an accessory. The Cross Trainers are primarily used for circuit training, where the focus is more on repetition rather than weight (check out our Burn Machine Boot Camp which is specifically designed for use with the Cross Trainers). For this reason, no weight can be added to the units, but they are more space efficient than the Universal.

A. Only the Universal can accommodate added weight. The bar can hold up to 200 pounds.

A. The Intermediate Cross Trainer weighs 12 pounds. Weight cannot be added to this bar. The Professional Cross Trainer weighs 20 pounds. Weight cannot be added to this bar. The Universal weighs 22 pounds and has an extension onto which the bar can be plate loaded with up to 200 more pounds.

The Universal can also accommodate any one-inch standard plates. Olympic plates can be added with the use of the Burn Machine Olympic Adapter (sold separately).

A. The Burn Machine is so confident about the solid steel construction of our machines, we offer a limited-lifetime warranty on all equipment. The only maintenance you may require is the occasional lubrication of the rotating grips (see below).
